On the
recommendation of an Italian friend, I made arrangements
to stay at this charming Tuscan estate with my family
for six weeks. It was one of the most enriching, memorable
experiences of my life. A glance on the map will tell
you the obvious great central location, but it can not
tell you of the beautiful setting, and abundance of wildlife
found here. All this of paired with the friendly owners
and attention to detail, make you relax as soon as you
arrive. As if that is not enough, delicious dinners are
planned (should you be inclined) and served "family
style" so you have the opportunity to meet people
from all over the world and swap stories.
I can not wait to return. |

We are
planning our third trip to Poderi Val Verde. We loved
it and especially the kids loved it. |

"Thank you dear
Ulrike for returning the real essence of Tuscany in this
lovely spot. Thank you for doing it so graciously. So
the only way not to feel overly sorry to leave is to look
forward to next time (incl. seeing you in Paris) Love
Denise" |

"I do not know
if God really created the woman on a Saturday. I think
after this performance he created an earthly heaven for
this woman. That is were you are, dear Ulrike and thanks
to your wonderful though endless job, we were lucky enough
to share this paradise with you for a short time. If nothing
bad happens before next year, we will come again. That's
a deal!" |
| Teresa, Axel and the
child Alexander Thelen from Germany |
"We have been
searching for solitude and hospitality ... and we have
found both here. Thank you so much Ulrike, Mirella, Fabian
and the dogs Mufasa and cat 1, cat 2, cat 3 ... |

"A delightful
week in the true heard of Tuscany. We could not wish for
more, a most pleasant "home" away from home,
to return to every day. We have been blessed to spend
these days here this way." |
| Bob and Karrie Brueck
from US |
It was a wonderful
stay. We are very happy that my father introduced us to
your fantastic getaway. The week here went way too fast.

"You have provided
peace and quit as advertised. The birds are especially
pleasing, also the cats. We leave with fond memories" |

How lucky we were
that we found this little paradise. Founded by Ulrike
and ruled by her with a warm heart, 2 dogs and five cats.
We enjoyed her Tuscan cooking when we sat together with
several nationalities and the world became one" |

Helen from Holland - e.r.westendorp@wxs.nl |
"We really liked
the stay here at Poderi Val Verde very, very, much. It
was a great pleasure to experience life here in Tuscany
for one week. Many thanks for your hospitality. As the
French say "partir c'est mourir un peu" - but
we will definitely come back" |
| Peter, Monika and
the children Sandra and Carolin from Germany |
"It's for the
second time we are here and each time we like it more
at Ulrike's. Finally no TV for the kids, no telephone
for Dad, no noise - only wild boars, dogs and cats. A
vacation we have always dreamt of. Since our kids have
not been successful in training all dogs and cats for
an appearance in a circus we might as well have to come
back again." |
| Benito and Mirelle
from Israel |
"Ouzzziii! -
is that the word we should use to describe your place
pr "wow" should be better. Thank you for your
warmth and your smile! This corner of heaven couldn't
be like that without you." |
| Laura and Matt Herford
from US. |
"What an amazing
end to our Italian holiday. Poderi Val Verde was perfect
- better then we could have imagined. Our stay here was
totally restful and relaxing - and when we were ready
for adventure, Poderi Val Verde was the perfect location
for fun-filled day trips throughout Tuscany. Thank you
so much for your hospitality, friendliness, humor, and
tips on what to do and where to go." |
| Takayoshi Tokushima
from Japan |
"While the other
4 did their cooking with you, my brother (76 years) and
I (66 years) were wandering off through the valley. We
got lost 3 times and when we saw the "valley of wild
roses" at the third time, the welcome was almost
unbearable. In any case we enjoyed the sweet scent of
the calm valley and this first long vacation after so
many years will always be a pleasant memory. See you again." |
| Taeko Tokushima from
Japan |
Dear Ulrike, dear
Fabian and dear Mirella as well as dogs and cats - thank
you so much for your smiling faces, and thanks for these
days of vacation in the beautiful Tuscany, thank you for
the caressing wind and the tasty food. I would very much
like to come back and see your smiles again" |
